Re: pic of my new 150gal system

these are just after i finially got the Ca reactor back up. sence i hooked it back up there things have really start to grow. i can only imagine what growth i would have if i left it on for the past 4 months. at least i now have a marker here to see what happens next

alrighty than,

6/11 i think these were with blue + actinic bulbs going, maybe not just blue .

note the tang is no longer in any of the pics. i still get to see him the QT, but its not the same.

6/11-looks like i need to take some tank shots. i only have a couple and they are not good, blurred. need a current one anyway with corals open. but until then this will be the only FTS i can do.

going to have to try to get one at feeding or aleast when the fish are out and about.

Re: pic of my new 150gal system

The latest, I had some crazy fish find some interesting ways to head for those fishy gates in the sky. The tang…,,,tang tang tang, the regal tang is in TO for being a bad boy. He has been there for a couple weeks, soon to be in a new home, somewhere. He was keeping everyone but the firefish in the corners. I also changed up my flow some and changed up my bulbs some.

Things of note during the first year;
06/15/06: tank startup
06/16/06: sand in
06/19/06: rock in
06/20/06: RO/DI auto top off, skimmer and sump
06/22/06: chiller
07/14/06: first fishes and corals(just couple corals from an old tank, but still first ones)
08/03/06: refugium
08/14/06: Ca+reactor
12/29/06: Aqua Jr. added
02/09/07: changed out Ca+reactor, replaced with DIY klak reactor
05/29/07: Ca+reactor back on-running both kalk and Ca reactors and loving the results, can see it big time in the coral growth rates, the next update should, hoping, there will be some nice growth.

and how it is now,

72x18x20” acrylic tank with 150lbs ish LR, 2” fine grain sand bed. 6x80watt T5’s on 2x660 icecap ballast (bulbs; 3 ATI blue+, 2 ATI 12k aqua specials, 1 GE 3000k day) 48x12x18” DIY sump/refugium with LR and cheato 2x21w and 2x14w T5’s, cheap coralife strips. ASM G-3 skimmer, ¼hp arctica chiller. korallin C-1502 calcium reactor and a DIY kalk reactor. typhoon-3, 5 stage RO/DI. sedra 1200gph sump/return pump(1000gph after restrctions, yes true). 1-MJ 900 and 1-MJ 900 with oceanflo mod. Tunze stream 6000 with single controller. All but the tunze controlled with Aqua Jr. controller with serial port. No aqua notes yet, Pinpoint Ph monitor(just like having two), 2x300watt visi-therm deluxe heaters.

Current revised fish list:
purple firefish (Nemateleotris decora)
hector’s goby (Amblyeleotris hectori)
rainford's goby (Amblygobius rainfordi)
yellow watchman goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus)
mandrine goby (Synchiropus splendidus)
royal gramma (Gramma loreto)
2-percula clowns (Amphiprion ocellaris)
Maldives lyretail anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) male
swallowtail angelfish Genicanthus melanospilus) female

Many new corals, one of these days I need to make a list, not today though. also i have not hooked ny chiller back up yet, planning on doing this week, have the next 6 days off too play with my tank i should also be able to get a good FTS with all the fishes and corals out too.

Re: pic of my new 150gal system

Thanks for sharing more pics. That tank really has "come into it's own".

Keep up the good work and you GOTTA tell me how you're doing it with that camera. I can't get shots half as good as those with mine. suggestions?

Allen

Re: pic of my new 150gal system

hey i found a straight tank shot. this was taken on 6/5/07. notice the tang is still in there. sad to say there will be no shots with the tang in them form now on, nit in this tank anyway. at least i am pretty sure about that.

so here it is, not in the best of focus but it works, has to, its the only one i got.
