| Wannabe Guru ![]() | Re: JFK_Jr's 150 Gallon Starphire Doesn't the higher alk rates help maintain the ph ? Are you using a ph monitor and if so how big of a drop in ph were you getting ? I don't have a problem dripping kalk since I have to topoff anyway.

Normally it does... but if you get excess CO2 in your tank from too high of a bubble count... it will depress your PH. I use a Pinpoint probe that works through my ReefKeeper 2. I think the combo method works the best... I'll keep you updated on my progress. | |
