I wanted to take advantage of the top page post to do a recap of my tank, so I reposted this response.

Ummm.... I really want to try the Giesemann Megachrome 250W 13K bulbs. Where is the best place to get a pair? They are SE right?
Thank you...

Yes... they are SE Mogul. Marine Depot has them for $116.99

I found them at Premium Aquatics for a lot less...

Thanks Robert...

I know Sanjay has done some reviews on the Giesmann bulbs.... don't think on the Megachrome though. I do know he's rated other Giesmann bulbs highly.

So far they look great... the best thing is they are supposed to be good for 18 months... we'll see.

I'm using electronic ballasts from Hamilton. Not sure if they make them or just re brand them?

Re: JFK_Jr's 150 Gallon Starphire

Okay, I have an electronic ballast also. Some bulbs look different on different type ballast (M80, electronic).
I think I will get a pair of the megachromes. Thanks for the info.

Your photo recap is great! I love picking one coral out and looking at it in each picture and seeing the amazing growth. You should really proud of all your hard work!

I especially love the new lights. Seriously gives me the reefing bug to go out and upgrade!

I've got the reefing bug bad...

Here's what I did this morning...

I ordered this Aussie Acanthastrea Lord

It's got 30 + heads.

Re: JFK_Jr's 150 Gallon Starphire

Ok... so here's the deal...

I took off from work tomorrow to wait for my "first ever" livestock internet order!

I ordered a large colony of Australian Acanthastrea Lord from the Reef Doctor. The guy Chris who operates the site called me after I placed my order to give me some bad news and good news.

The bad news... the colony pictured had already been sold!

The good news... the other LARGER half of the colony, which he was going to keep for himself to sell off as frags, is on it's way to me right now!!!

He also told me as a bonus he is going to send me a little a little something that's gonna make my jaw
What could it be?????

Also I placed an order from LiveAquaria for a Blue Velvet Nudibranch
(Chelidonura varians), and some super tongan jumbo nassarius snails.

Can't wait!
