Re: My 29 gal reef

My first coral Goniopora stokesi. I picked it up from a NJ wholesaler in September. This pic is from about a week ago, before two buds dropped. It was aquired without any buds.
More pics to come!

Re: My 29 gal reef

All three buds droped in about a week, I think due to stress of lowering salinity, and the mother colony took a fall twice in three days due to a nuisance crab being a pain in the butt.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: My 29 gal reef

On Saturday I'll be moving my reef tank down the road. I'm a little nervous considering I have around 40 pieces of coral. As for fish I'm giving a buddy my hippo tang so i only have to worry about a yellow goby. My sixline was caught and moved to a 75 (ill get to this when its a little more presentable). Hopefully I'll be able to catch that pesky crab. I plan on leaving all of my live rock and sand in the tank while moving and using styrofoam peanuts in fish bags to keep it from toppling. Just wish me luck.

Re: My 29 gal reef

Good luck to you! Just be sure the rocks can't fall and chip/break the glass.
