Thanks for the kind words buddy!

Do you mean actinics? Or blue lights? I find that often the two forms of lights are used interchangeably amongst reefers...

I have 4x80W ATI T5HO for blue lights, driven by a IceCap 660 & 2xArcadia 420NM Marine Actinic...

I'm not sure of the technical performance aspect of it... but blue lights generally gives the tank a "bluer" look, while actinic illuminates the corals flourescent colours properties and "enhances" the way it looks, in the way it brings outs the colours of the corals...

Blue light tubes gives a blue light while actinic tubes gives a purple light. Both light spectrums, in my understanding helps the corals to achieve better health and growth...

Re: Vanquish's 250g Reef Tank...

Alright... my confession... been on a mission to slowly lower my sandbed... took out about 5kg of sand last night and gave all the sand a good stir, releasing tons of detritus!!!!

Had a change of filter wool in my overflow and also changed new GAC while doing that... skimmer went crazy and was toally black at the skimmer cup less than 24 hours after my little "operation"...
