Re: Vanquish's 250g Reef Tank...

Place a bait (piece of market prawn meat) in a small glass bottle and placed the bottles tilted at an angle either one the sandbed or on the rocks, leaned onto some rocks... The idea is to attract the crabs to the bait and when they enter the glass bottle, they can't crawl out due to the slippery surface of the glass bottle...

I also tied 2 rubber bands accross the "entrance" to prevent fishes from attempting to enter the bottle to steal the bait...

WOW just caught up. Ive never been soooooo envious. We should start a new thread for reasons why the U.S. is obvoiusly behind in reef keeping. Love the Ric's - killer corals!!!

I must say we have a matured reefing community in Singapore, there are lots of SPS keepers with stunning SPS tanks and also lots of stunning coral shipments!!

But I cant agree that the U.S. is behind... I get so envious of some of the awesome stuffs you guys get!

To my understanding, Japan gets some of the best corals as they pay with lots of Yen...

Re: Vanquish's 250g Reef Tank...

Saw some monstrous polyps extensions on my SPS when the light came on today... just a few pics to share...

Some of the polyps were 15-20mm long!!

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
