Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

I was reading about your change over to the Zeovit system and you promised some pictures. I figured they would be posted here. Where did you post them?

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

Slacking isnt the word for it,,,, shoot... Im lazy, lol Well I did snap a few pictures today. They are kinda dark because I always get so much glare from all my basement windows so I pulled all the blinds.. Now I think it is to dark.. I just cant get it right, lol

A little back ground of what I have been doing to the tank in the last 6 months. I started zeovit and I tell you what I almost cried, In good ways and bad ways... Let me tell ya all Why?

Zeovit is a system of making a low nutrient system. For better light penetration and less algae.. Well in an established tank it can take ALONG TIME to pull all the extra nutriants from Live rock, sand, water etc. In the mean time while you go through this it can cause some algae problems, green water, etc because you are messing with the bacteria load. You just have to walk away and not get discouraged because it is all normal...

At 1st about 2 of my acros started to lose color from the bottom up, meaning the zeovit was bothering them.. Not much you can do but back off the flow and hope for the best.... ALL corals pulled through... YEA!!!!!!! At 1st it can be a guessing game of to much flow not enough flow,, to much of this product and not enough of this... You must study the product Very well...

Well ok After 6 months I believe I am finally through the bad stages.. PLease cross your fingers for me....

My color of the corals are all amazing, The growth is outstanding. And all looks very very happy... Here is a few pictures.. And please anybody thinking about Zeovit... Please study the product before use... ok? Deal?

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

Opps I forgot to mention that I added a product called marine snow about 15 minutes before the pictures so the water is a little milky..

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

LOVE your tank!

What types of "Monti" do you have in there? 3 different ones isn't it?

You really should "Hook a brother up" and frag ALL 3 of them *Grins*

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

Vicki have you ever thought about adding maybe some LED moonlights? You might be shocked at what those corals look like late at night with the LEDS causing them to "Fluoresce"
