This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

He is very healthy Cheeks. The previous owner must of taken very good care of him. His colors are so bright. He is eating very well for me too.

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

I love the PB but I just don't have a tank big enough yet.

I love the achilles even better though and it needs an even bigger tank. I'm thinking a nice "L" shaped, 1,000 gallon one.

(i can dream, can't it?)

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

I love the PBT. Maybe one day I can grow up (get big enough TANK) to have one.

don't both of those just listed require a 100g tank?

Hijack in Progress ! ! !

Does the TOTAL water volume dictate the "size" or only the size of the display tank? I mean if you have a 125g display, 40g fuge, 40g sump you'd infact have a total of 205gs total water volume. Or would just the mere "usuable" water be what you use to calculate for this?

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

For tangs - you could/should only count the usable swim room. So the main tank water volume.

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

Everything I've heard is that tangs need LOTS of swimming room. So a 300g tank that is less than 48" long isn't big enough. I had heard that tangs LOVE to swim to find food and if they can't do that, they get depressed and die. (i wonder if I heard that on Dr. Phil)

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

I agree, total lateral swim space is the most critical element for tangs. The more the better!

Yes it was sort of a joke (the part about the depressed & die thing).

Re: My 265 gallon in wall reef.

I have had several fish introduced into my tank that were severely picked on by the established fish. Later those same fish became best buds. Hope this works out for you.
