| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing I got my Nacl-free salt also (thanks Drew!). I still need to get;
I would like to install the ro/di line into a smaller reservoir (maybe a 4 gallon) that will replace my current 10 gal kalkwasser reservoir. I've been filling up the kalkwasser reservoir by hand every 2-3 days and it is a PITA. I need to figure out how to set up float switches in the new ro/di reservoir.... I'll think start a new thread for that issue ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Ho ho ho sound's like christmas ....... it goes further with small steps. BTW .... I write my measuring values and the amounts of the single Balling solutions for each week in an Excel Sheet. If somebody is interested, I can show you the excel sheet as a picture and do explain briefly striking changes? ![]()

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Heinz, I would like to study your spreadsheet. Specifically, I want to create a graph showing the monthly average usage for each solution. That should give me a good idea of how large my containers should be.

| Golden Moray | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Ok Doni Marie .... here are the sheet: ![]() The spreadsheet shows the last 12 weeks. In the first week I used Tropic Marin PRO salt. I changed the salt at march 7. 2008 (Red coral sea (not to buy in the US)) what you clearly in rise of the values can recognise. The anew used salt has substantially more magnesium and calcium. But by the careful adapt one remains always in the norm. hope it helps?

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Thank you Heinz. That helps to show I can probably get two smaller containers for #1 and #3 but a larger one for #2. Which will help to save space! Is the "To Dose" a daily or weekly value? I do realize that my reef's needs will be different from yours but both are soft coral dominated and approximately the same size so the needs should be similar.

| Golden Moray | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Hello Doni Marie, "to dose" is a daily value, it shows how much I daily has dosed up to the next measurement. The consumption of calcium and magnesium is still relatively low. This can be in your tank substantially more, above all when much more SPS corals are in the aquarium and if one does a water change, e.g., only once a month or all 2 weeks.

| Harlequin Tuskfish | Re: "Balling Method" for supplementing Doni, found these while looking at the bulk supplies: Drew's Doser I'm poking around to see what I can find out about them, but it looks at first glance like these would be hooked up to a controller to time how long they are on. Since they pump at 1.6 mL/minute, should be simple to control the amount you dose each day. |
