Re: Calcium Hydroxide??

No that is not calcium hyroxide at all but just ground up limestone as it says. Often in assays the Ca++ is measured as an oxide, such as CaO. This 97% calcium carbonate tells you it is calcite, CaCO3. So this a very pure limestone. It will do nothing ro your tank, accept make a mess of it.

You need to just get some Picking Lime.

Re: Calcium Hydroxide??

I have never heard of anyone being able to get it in Canada, nor have I heard of anyone having it shipped up here. If you can find a place here that does sell it you'll be worshiped by the reef fanatics!

I have heard of people who take day trips to the states picking some up and bring it back though, but you need to be carefull with the quantity you carry across the boarder or they get suspicious that you are trying to selll it for commercial usage.

Re: Calcium Hydroxide??

If you click on check out there is an option to ship to Canada there. I didn't know any addresses in Canada so I could calculate the shipping charges. But it is an option on Robert's link.

Re: Calcium Hydroxide??

You **could** get Balls in Canada but Balls no longer makes their pickling lime.
