Reef Chemistry for The Beginner

The “How To” Guide to Reef Aquarium Chemistry for Beginners,
Part 1: The Salt Water Itself

Quote:
This article is the first in a series that deals with coral reef aquarium chemistry issues on a basic and practical level. Its primary purpose is to get new aquarists to focus on those aspects of reef aquarium chemistry that are truly important, instead of on those that are not. New aquarists are bombarded with a huge assortment of issues and opinions relating to aquarium husbandry practices, and none seems to cause more anxiety than chemistry issues. Some of these issues are actually very complicated, and the answers to many questions are simply not known. Fortunately for hobbyists, knowing the answers to these questions is rarely important to keeping a wonderful reef aquarium. Those issues that are important to understand are much more straightforward and can be solved without excessive anxiety.

Re: Reef Chemistry for The Beginner

Is this a dupe post? It shows up on my new posts twice and they are the same. Great info as alwaus from Randy.

Re: Reef Chemistry for The Beginner

Not a duplicate... it needs to be in both the "beginners" and "chemistry" sections.

I would suggest that when you have something that needs to be in two areas, you place the main post in one area and make another post with a link to the main post in the other area.

This tends to keep all the other reply posts by members together in a single area, and you won't get accused of the "terrible sin" of double posting.

Re: Reef Chemistry for The Beginner

Actually I like having it in both areas. I just do most of my RS posting from the new posts area and didn't notice that they are in different forums. This makes it easier for new people to find the important information since many people look at a particular forum. Either way works though. I just thought it was a mistake when really the mistake was mine.
