| Harlequin Tuskfish | a good refractometer? i was just wondering if this refractometer is a good refratometer.... here the description.... Blue Salinity (salt) Refractometer w ATC ![]() http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...e1284/11_1.jpg The Unit is designed for testing the concentration of salt water and brine. Provides a direct reading of the specific gravity and concentration (Parts Per Thousand) of salt in water. It provides reliable refractive index and salinity readings of total dissolved solids of aqueous solutions. It is used for quality control in research and clinical laboratories. It can be used to check and maintain stock solutions and dilutions. In the food industry, it is especially effective in the preparation of frozen vegetables, fruits, seafood and ocean byproducts. The Salinity Refractometer is also used in oceanography and seawater studies for determining soil quality. The model having ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) is ideal for field use. This unit is also equipped with “Automatic Temperature Compensation” for accurate measurements without recalibration after shifts in ambient working temperature (field use). Product Specification Ranges: 0-100 ppt of NaCl and 1.000 to 1.070 Specific Gravity Accuracy: +/- 1 ppt / 0.001 Specific Gravity Divisions: 1 ppt / 0.001 Specific Gravity Built-In Automatic Temperature Compensation Sturdy design, made of Aluminum Excellent Two (2) Year Manufacturer Warranty Product Included A hand held refractometer A soft sided carrying case with belt loop A pipette for dropping test fluids onto the prism A mini screwdriver for scale calibration A User Guide any help in directing me towards a good refractometer that does not cost a arm and a leg would be greatly appriciated! Thanks alot guys!
