    I think there max size is about 1"

    across the bottom(the broad part) anything up to a foot, but there commonly seen 6" across,down here indonesian pirates steal them from our reefs arrrr

    I used to collect them in Guam on occasion,"sent some to ORA" but they had to be 4" accross to be legal. Also they are very tasty So yeah they get BIG!

    erm, do all snails like astrea etc get big? i want something that will stay small.

    The grow pretty slow... I bought 6 that were maybe 1" across the bottom & in a year, they have not grown more the 1/4" more...

    If that helps... really nice snails... imo
