| Midas Blenny | Re: First Saltwater tank I got myself 7 gallons premade from the store to make it easy. There salanity is perfect, but it's 8 degrees to cold. So I put in my 2 extra heaters from an old tank to bring up the temp of the new water to match the current conditions. So hopefully it will all be ready in a few hours! |

| Midas Blenny | Re: First Saltwater tank Here are the percula clowns! They seem very happy. Nice to add some color and movement to the tank. I know I should wait about a month for additional fish, but what about corals? ![]() Here is another shot ![]() The larger one is about 2.5" and the small one is about an 1.5" The LFS didn't have anything any smaller which I prefered to get, but I can live an already established pair. |

| Sailfin Marlin | Re: First Saltwater tank Very pretty an established pair is great ! Fish add to bio-load, coral bio-neutral I added 2 or three pieces after my cycle finished & then about one a week for the next several months ![]()

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: First Saltwater tank Very nice clowns and pictures of them! Get the wallet out and go for the corals! They don't add to the bio-load unless you feed them - most types do fine on light and nutrients from the water & some small scraps of fish food. Research corals first, and start out with easy photosynthetic ones that don't require target feeding. Don't rush!

| Midas Blenny | Re: First Saltwater tank looks like I have some work cut out for me tommorrow. I am gonna do all my research on corals and troll the forums. There is a post someplace here as I recall about corals for beginners. I'll have to find that one again. I totally want some easy corals to take care of, as I will be leaving for florida for 5 days in Jan. and my father said he would take care of the tank during that time frame. So I'm trying to make it simple for both of us. I always loved the look of a Frogspawn coral, so I will start there tommorrow! |
