| Tunicate | Re: Anyone Lurking have any RSM questions? going to get the 130d. biggest problem i have right now is deciding on a skimmer. like that the tunze can "hide away", but, have owned a few of the euroreef skimmers in the past and know they are hard to outperform.......going to order a few korilla's for additional flow and some LED's for some "shimmer" and blue look. Think i am going to change out the stock bulbs for some straight 10k's and rely on the LED's for actinic. Have a list a mile long of things i think i need and things i want....Believe it or not the wife has given me the complete green light! |

| Tunicate | Re: Anyone Lurking have any RSM questions? im not sure where to post this so i thought this thread would be appropriate.... i have just bought a second hand rsm max 130 planning to do the tunze 9002 mod, have the rack and cup from steve already.. i bought new lights for my hood so i would know that i would have "fresh" lighting... now i have a couple of questions because i think that my moonlight globes are not working.... when i put it on the on switch I whitle lights are on and it appears that the moonlights are on too (or maybe the white lights are strong to make the blue lights appear to be on) when i put the switch on 0 no moonlights... now next to the timer there is an on and off switch.. i assume its for the moonlights and i only active when the timer is on the 0 position... in this case i get no individual blue lights.... is this a problem or is it normal? |

| Tunicate | Re: Anyone Lurking have any RSM questions? thanx for the reply i managed to get a manual from my local LFS last week kewl guy... told him i got a second hand one and he gave my the manual for his display RSM..... I must have not communicated properly... this is my first RSM ever.... also my 1st marine tank ever!!! anyway i guess this line on page 24 is telling me i have a problem with my tank "The switch turns off the moonlights in the event that you do not want them on automatically when the daylights are off." so i dont have my moonlights working when the daylights are off and the switch is turned on ..... i only have one question now to remove any doubt... the 2 little leds in the hood on the reflectors... are they there to detect daylight outside hence the moonlights working or are the moonlights fully controllable as i think the RSM manual is suggesting.... im just making sure before taking the hood to get checked by an electronic tech... |

| Tunicate | Re: Anyone Lurking have any RSM questions? no just to correct myself on my first post when you have the daylights turned on..... are the moonlights on as well or is it the brightness of the daylights that makes it appear that the moonlights are on as well? |

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: Anyone Lurking have any RSM questions? Hi John - I'll let Glenn or another 130/130D owner answer the moonlight question. It's been so long since I removed the stock hood that I can't remember the light switch settings. There have been instances where the moonlights have quit working and that may be the case. When I got my RSM I was new to all of this too, and that's true of a lot of us. I did a lot of reading posts and some reef books before & after, and I'm still learning something new every day. ![]()

Look at this pick of the Dial & toggle switch in this pic/post - make sure the switch in the dial is in the middle position... hope this helps New RSM owner, light trouble.
