| Scopas Tang | Red bubble algae Bugger...........I seem to have a bit of an out break at the minute.... ![]() I'm thinking the best way to remove it is prise it off the rock while holding a syphon tube adjacent to it (need an extra pair of hands though). I did wonder about a Mathrix Crab, but have bee told while they eat the Green stuff, wont touch the Red version.....true?? Roger

| Torch coral | Re: Red bubble algae When i had some bubble algae i just pulled the rock to the surface, put a dab of super glue gel, let it sit, and popped it right off. But if you have a large outbreak that might take awhile.

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: Red bubble algae Is it bubble algae or red cyano with bubbles trapped in it? I don't believe Mithrax will eat cyano, and my emeralds never touched the few green bubble algae that I had. I had one a couple months ago that got bigger than a marble and popped it when I tried to remove it, but unlike what's often said about bubble algae breaking it didn't have any others pop up anywhere. The few small ones I had a long time ago were pretty easy to remove by hand without popping - I was surprised how tough skinned mine were.

| Scopas Tang | Re: Red bubble algae It's definitely Red bubble algae, not bubble cyno. I tried to remove one this morning (about 3mm across) but it's not hard like Green bubble algae and would not come off the rock in the same way. In the end I scraped them off with my finger nail, while syphoning the water away. I'll keep you posted.
