After cleaning the wheels

Here's a pic I just took - 24 hours after cleaning the mesh wheels. Prior to this I had gotten about 1/4" in 2-3 days. Yep - that's coralline, growing from the light bleedover from the raised hood

Back in business now!

Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page

I can remember wishing coraline would grow in my tanks; now i wish it would stop! I have to wipe the glass every day on every tank or after a week the glass looks like that skimmer tube. I noticed something about the ER Skimmer, whenever I use Marine Snow the skimmer shuts down? Takes a few hours for it to start up again. I should pull it out and check the wheels like reefmack did because mine has slowed down on skim production also. What are the two sizes of wheels so I can check to see whats in mine? I have no problem with overflow, mine is sitting 1.5" over the plate so i would like to try the larger wheels if I don't have them.

Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page

I agree with Reef Ghost - coralline grows too fast where you don't want it! It seems to prefer plastic & glass over rock LOL!

Hi all,

Apologies for not posting before but I have been up to my eyes with work and a new family member!

Having followed this thread for ages I decided to take the plunge and order the Euroreef. It arraived eaxactly a week ago - great. Unfortunatly that was also the day I went on holiday for the week. I will be setting up the skimmer over the weekend and I will be using step down transformers as I am in the UK. Fingers crossed they will do the trick. I will keep you updated on porgress.

Great forum by the way and super service from Todd

Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page

I totally agree with JMH, super service from both Todd and Robert. They're the best.

Todd, there's some improvement with the microbubbles after following your recommendations. I'm confident that between you and Robert we'll get this figured out. I wonder if it just isn't some inherent flaw in some of the RSM's, as some have had microbbuble problem with the stock skimmers while others haven't.
