| RS Sponsor | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page Thats very strange the lens is not coming out of the lighting system. Sounds almost like it may have got melted in place from heat?????

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page Well, I got it budged with some force, but after a lot of effort only 1/2". The other cover slid out easily with no problem at all. I was wishing they had a screw bracket like the glass over the HQI bulb. Just sent an email to Current USA customer support. I'll crack that one cover off if needed, but I want another one first. I offered to pay for it iff needed. Darn - after seeing your pics and jdmevo9's pics of the Euro-Reef in action I want to get mine in! I think it will do more for my water quality than the extra 6-7 gallons of water in my small 10g sump/fuge!

| RS Sponsor | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page Terry, Yes, I think it would do more for your water quality most certainly. I am very anxious to see it running on your tank as I know you have a HEAVY bioload! I think that skimmer is really going to go nuts on that tank! Let us know what you decide to do! Is it that big of a job to just take the overflow out of the back and put the skimmer in? Then, at your leisure remove the sump and other components....

| Limpet | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page That's weired that the t5 lens is stuck to the rail, I don't think there's suffient amount of heat to really bond the lens to the metal. I think current should replace it for free since its kine of a defect.I hope you get the skimmer installed soon Terry. |

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page redseareef - not that big of a job to unhook the Lifereef, but draining the sump/fuge and removing it & cleaning it out would take a while. If it was just a sump it would be quicker, but with the live sand, algae & critters down there I'm afraid if I just unhook it that after a week it'll be pretty gunky & stinky down there. Plus, it's rained a bit & more in the forecast so not a great day to to have to work on cleaning the thing up outside. Wish it was possible, but just not a good day for it. Plus, I still don't have much "leisure time" LOL. and will have 20+ plants arriving possibly this week to deal with next weekend. Send me some leisure time LOL! jdmevo9 - I was also surprised that cover wouldn't slide out! The other one practically slid out on its own. Nope - I also can't see heat being a problem. The hood never gets that warm, and the lights hadn't been on yet when I was working on it. I thought when I forced it out 1/2" that it would finally let go, but I couldn't budge it any further even pulling on it with a pliers! I'll see what Current USA says.

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page They were T5 HO SlimPaq actinics - 420 and 460 nm. I have 2 of each (24 w x 4) in my hood, plus the 150W metal halide. I was replacing all of the T5s - well, I tried to - I was only able to get at the front set.

| RS Sponsor | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page Chris, WOW! Excellent! Your water should really be clearing up now. That skimmer is going to town on your tank. It's just shocking what the other skimmers miss in your tank water!

| RS Sponsor | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page Chad, It's a different pump configuration to fit in your RSM. Chris's is a custom model for his external sump. It looks like your water level dropped Chris. You can raise the water level some and get alot more in the cup! Not as dark, but still more potent then the darker dryer skimmate. Looking good!

| Golden Moray | Re: RedSea Max/ Euroreef Skimmer Page You don't even need the media rack. Just chemi-pure elite in the chamber of death and the euroreef skimmer. If you want to and i will too, stuff some filter floss in where the sponge used to be. When doing a water change, instead of taking it out of the main tank, take it out the back and suck out all the gunk from the bottom.
