CAN YOU GIVE US A COMPARISON TO THE TUNZE? Or your opinion?

Chris,
Keep a eye on your corals. You should notice your water has cleared up quite a bit.
Now, if your corals start really lightening in color, you can cut back a few hours on your lighting if you wish. Your light penatration should be more intense now.
Was the Tunze pulling out this amount of gunk?

Hi, these are only available here in the USA. Eventually, they should reach Europe and many other countries.
The skimmers are available for many different nano tank models as well. Custom unit's such as Chris's are also available.
Do you have a redsea max as well?

So skimmer will have two pumps so two plugs. I am going to head over to lowes see if I can get some type of adapter 2 to 1, so it will still work with RSM power center.

Does that make sence? Do they make these?

Well the amount of skim the euroreef produced in one day is equivalent to the amount of skim the tunze produces in a week. This skimmer pulls in a lot more organics then the tunze does. I mean this thing is a monster at creating skimmate, for all the people that feed fairly heavy in their rsm this will drastically help in removing the excess organics you put in.

Yes, I am sure they do. Take some measurment of the area where the plug will go to make sure the adaptor fits

Yeah they make ones that have 3 or 2 outlets, I think they're for like christmas lights.

Hi all. Unfortunately the Euro-Reef is a no-go with my current setup

I managed to get the skimmer in by moving the Lifereef overflow to the left as far as possible, then lifting up the Lifereef overflow and tilting the Euro-Reef to get it under the overflow, but quickly found that the inner box on the LifeReef overflow is too long to fit back down - the left pump on the skimmer is too high to let the overflow go back down.

And a double whammy. I went to replace the 4 T5s in my Orbit HQI/T5 fixture and could only replace the back 2 lamps. The slide out acrylic lamp cover slid out easily on the front, but the cover over the back lamps would not budge . I tried hammering it loose with a small hammer and screwdriver but could only get it out about 1/2 inch. Cracked the black plastic lip off of the acrylic lens cover in the process. I managed to pound it back in and get the black lip back on, but the whole morning has been a bummer. An email to Current USA support is called for!

On the good side - I did get a water change done on the RSM and the little 9G tank, and the new T5s in the front section of the Orbit made a big difference! My lamps are 16-17 months old. I'd read T5s should last 2 years - no way!

I haven't given up on getting the Euro-Reef skimmer in. I've been having real doubts about how much my small sump/fuge really improves my water quality (at times I think it's done the opposite), and I'm a bit tired of the occasional noise problems with the Lifereef overflow. I may just remove the sump/fuge and go back to a tank that was less hassle to care for, get the Euro-Reef in, and go back to my media basket. But, I don't have a day to devote to that right now. Maybe next weekend.

jdmevo9 - I am once again impressed with the Euro-Reef! Awesome! I have to get mine in!
