Rock watching is one of the most enjoyable parts of this addiction!

Re: Glenn's new RSM 130D

Got some of that finer filter & tank cleared up nicely in only one hour, now messing with my rock a little, then time to sit back & watch

24 hours in... day 2

So far very happy with everything !

Re: Glenn's new RSM 130D

Good news. Just keep an eye on the white pad. It may need a rinse every day while the water clears up. If the fine filter plug gets plugged up with sediment, food, etc. it will drop the water level in back, starve the 2 pumps, and as a result cause a lot of extra microbubbles. That's probably why Red Sea doesn't send them out with the tanks anymore. After the water clears you might want to pull it out and just use one when you're stirring up things in the tank.

Well if that is the 130D cabinet, then I guess I did get the 130 cabinet, cause mine is different. Doesn't have all the lines around it.

Spend a lot of time reading/posting in the Just starting out, Reef hitchhiker and Coral forums here on Reef Sanctuary - you'll learn a lot in those forums that you may not find here in the RSM section. I was reading threads here and on other forums for months before getting a tank and it really helped.

Re: Glenn's new RSM 130D

inspired by post today in RSM owners forum, I just removed my bio balls / left carbon in. Was very easy to do & only took about 10 mins, my 1st time to touch the "chamber of death" since setup day, washed up carbon bag & did 10% water change. May add Chemi pure elite in about a week... (for reference - my cycle finished about 2 weeks ago).

your welcome and you did the right thing. I'm guessing if your going to add the chemi-pure elite on top of the carbon, you might be restricting flow. You only need the chemi pure. The 11.74 ounce or 1 unit is the one you want.
