| Reef Lobster | Re: replace with rockrubble Where does that bag go exactly? If it goes in a tank then I'd say lose the bag and just toss extra rock in your tank. If it's for a canister filter, I'd say ditch the thing entirely. If improperly maintained, canisters can turn into a nitrate factory. What kind of filtration do you have going on now and for what type of tank? |

| RS Sponsor | Re: replace with rockrubble Burbs, you could but why? Also, if you do keep it in the bag for easy rinsing and cleaning! I think the bio beads would do just as well if not better. But both will work fine. Remember, keep it clean in the back burbs.

Genesis 1:21 Why would God put a forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden? Why would God allow Satan to tempt Eve? Wouldn't it have been better had God not placed this tree there and there where no opportunity for temptation? But how would God know you truly loved him unless you had a choice? How would God know you truly wanted to obey him unless you had a choice? |

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: replace with rockrubble I replaced the media with rubble in a bag, then took that out as well. IMO you don't really need either with sufficient rock in the tank - anything you put in that pump chamber eventually gets plugged up with detritus, bag or no bag, and becomes a nitrate generator. Unless you like removing the pumps and putting your hand down there every month or so. Just my opinion based on what I found with my RSM.
