It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! | RS Sponsor | Re: Sand? burbs, If you got the kit with your tank you get a bag of aragonite!!! And it's great stuff too, as it's spherical in shap so it does not clump up on you! I used mine that came with the tank and I love it!!!!

How would God know you truly wanted to obey him unless you had a choice? |

| NaClH2O Addicted ![]() | Re: Sand? I'll agree with redseareef - the Red Sea aragonite is a nice substrate. IMO any aragonite based stuff is good as it can help buffer the tank as well. A lot of folks seem to avoid the crushed coral substrate that has large chunks, since detritis can get trapped by the large particles.
