| RS Sponsor | Re: Its Here, Its Here, Finally Here!!!! Thanks Glenn! It's getting there! My Corals are coloring up a little more each day! What more could I ask for! Seems the 250 watt Helios is doing a fine job! I cannot wait to see that Bonsai coral go full purple on me again. I have really tightened down the screws here so to speak. I am hoping for awesome colors as the result!

| RS Sponsor | Re: Its Here, Its Here, Finally Here!!!! Hi guys, Thanks for reviving my old thread! LOL!!!! Yes, my corals have been acclimating nicely to the new metal halide and colors are starting to POP now. Growth rates have ramped up quite a bit. My original GARF purple bonsai that I presumed was growing so well "AT THE BASE" and spreading I thought was due to my strong currents. I also felt the same way with the A. Gomezi. However, I realized both where spreading out as much as possible to "Collect" as much light under the near stock RSM 130D lighting. The metal halide has changed everything! Now, I am happy to report the lime green polyps came back on the purple bonsai and the branches are now turning purple starting at the branch ends!!!!!! The A. Gomezi has also got green polyps now as well. Growth rates have been excellent with the new 250 watt metal halide. And I am using up so much buffer now, I purchased another dosser to help with the additional needs. I found the sweet spot now with feeding and keeping nitrates and phosphates at zero per the test kits results. Using the D&D test kit and salifert nitrates I always get zero readings. I know have a total of 10 sps frags and all are growing well and getting better colors. It's a real babysitting job let me tell you............LOL! I have it pretty automated now. I will post some pics here shortly. Thank you guys ![]()
