Just got done setting up my RSM!

My GF just bought me a Dendro today...happy days! By the way, I was able to catch my 4 line with a tupperware..LOL..the 4 line went inside when I got back from my LFS and BAM!! got the lid closed and I brought him back to my LFS and traded for a Pom-pom xenia. I'm soo happy i was able to get rid of it that quick. My GF picked a Dendro for the tank and it's a beauty! It has one good size head and 2 small ones budding on its side. I can't wait 'til it starts multiplying. She promise to feed it once a day(i love her..hehe). Anyways, here are some pics:

Sorry for the massive pics...now i'm back to one fish...hehe..I also started using frozen mysis for the rest of the corals and they loved it!!!..they all look soo full. Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. Yeah RM, my GF volunteered to do it for me. She'll feed the dendro and duncan at the same time every single day. I just hope she does not put too much tho. I think she's using a fraction of the frozen cube of mysis.
blue eyes- thanks for the compliment...I try to get a variety of colors. I Just hope the dendros do well in the tank.

Pics of my corals during feeding time and my new superman or supergirl monti frag.







Almost 2 weeks since my last WC and so far so good. I have to keep changing the pads more often than before 'cause of the spot feeding. I used the Formula One sinking pellets and they loved it! They just drop on top of the corals and it was so cool to see them open up and consume the pellet. My dendros, duncan, cats eye and brain each receive 3 medium size pellets. Even some of the smaller shrooms ate the pellets too. Thanks for looking.

I've got a crick in my neck from looking sideways at those first pictures! Just kidding! The corals look great. I've got a small superman Monti that almost died, but it's coming back now. Yours looks a lot nicer though! By the way, who's feeding the Dendros and Duncan - you or the GF?

RM- sorry about the sideview pics..hehe...My GF but I did yesterday 'cause she was out. I just checked my KH and it read 6? I'm using Elos right now. Anyone here tried or been using this brand before? I'll re-test again and see. Anyways, have a good weekend!

I'd retest - 6 seems pretty low if it's correct. Elos kits are highly rated, but I've never tried one. I'm still using Salifert, and the Red Sea Alk Pro that I've recently tested gave the same results as the Salifert. Have a good weekend too!

Some of my corals(cats eye and brain) spit some of the pellets out. I guess I fed them too much...LOL...or maybe didn't like it?

I did my weekly water test for everything and it's A ok! I re-tested the KH and it turned to be 8-9. My MG is at 1350 and CA-400. All the others(amm, ph, nitrite and nitrate) are good. My water level in the back is not rising when I do my top-off and it's all going to the DT area. I changed the filter pad but it's still the same. It might be my bag of carbon(chemi) and purigen. It's been there for almost 2 months. Can I just rinse the carbon and use it again?

After 2 months the carbon will be useless IMO. I'd replace it, before it becomes a nitrate generator. Strange - my water level goes up in back and in the DT with my ATO. The bags may be too dirty and are cutiing the flow in back.

RM- I just got done doing my bi-weekly WC and I figured out why my water level in the back is not where I want it to be. I have the media rack from StevieT and my set up is: top part goes the filter pad, middle goes the bag of purigen and bottom goes the bag of chemi-pure. I just moved the bags around a bit and made sure it's not blocking the egg crate and everything is flowing good . I guess I have to make sure the bags are not blocking the egg crate and I might have to tie the bag of chemi to make it float instead of just sitting on the crate. I should have known better...hehe.

Aha! Chemi-Pure strikes again. I ended up tying my bag up to the shelf above with a plastic cable tie, and even dumped some out of the bag to keep it from blocking the flow. The smaller bag of CP might be a better choice.

Yeah RM, the smaller bag might be better but is it enough to be effective as the other bag. I'll keep an eye on the WL and see if it happens again, then it if does, zip ties time!

Probably not as effective, unless you consider having to tie it up or place it so that water goes around it rather than through it. In that case the smaller bag may actually be more effective. Just my thoughts on it.
