Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

brucewrs - you're off to a great start with the new camera! Practice makes perfect. Check the Nikon manual for macro pic settings. These cameras are a learning experience till you get the hang of it all.

Bruce - I see you selected the Nikon D90, that a great camera, as you can see my 1st pics were good & as I read & played & learned, they improved, to where I am now taking (imo) nice pics... as Terry said, just keep reading & experimenting.

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

It's going to take me months to get a tank as nice as these, if not years. I wish I'd started with colonies then frags, not the other way round.

Well done guys!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Raysreef: frags are great - esp for SPS IMO as they will grow into their spot and look really good in the end. Sometimes it can be hard to place a full size colony and get it to look natural.

I'm doing my SPS with frags and although it'll take a while to look good I think the end result will be good

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

A money saving tip... go with frags... then add colonies when you catch someone breaking down a tank

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Vic - I had to wait till I got home to see your pics (Photobucket is blocked at work), but it was worth the wait! No need to apologize for your camera skills - both the tank and your pics (great sharpness and natural colors) are fantastic and some of the best quality pics I've seen!

Thank you (and the rest) VERY much for the compliments. I'm very very fortunate the tank is only 3 feet away from me all day long. It's hard not to get distracted during my daily work stuff!
