Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Not your regular red sea max but a RSM none the less. It houses 4 southern erectus seahorses, let me know if you want more pics!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

TenUhC: looking good - nice and clean!

SeahorseBT: more pics please! No that I know anything about seahorses but I thought the flow might be too much. There was a guy at our local LFS who tried some small tropical kudas and they got pushed over to the grill where the water goes into the back of the tank! Needless to say he didn't leave them in there!!! I do see you've got nozzles angled in a way that lookslike it's to reduce the flow in most of the tank?

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

I'll post some more pis tomorrow. I only run one of the pumps, the one pointed at the surface. They are fine with the flow, they are not pushed around at all.

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

one pump - that makes sense! I think there would be several people over here in NZ who would be interested to use the RSM as a seahorse tank, having seen one used successfully - thanks very much for posting!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Thanks alphasierra! Sapphire, seahorses are great in the rsm IF you can keep the temperature down. They need low temps to prevent the invasion of bacterial infections.

No - the orange one has the malu anemone on the substrate and the black and white one has the open brain to the left! Neither have shown any interest in the frogspawn, octospawn or anything else.....

I think everyone here who has seahorses (except for the trpoicals) has a chiller - but good point

Sapphire just looked back and saw your pic's and the tank looks great. I always wanted to get down to New Zealand to fish for Yellowtail, "do you fish"?
