Yes its polyps are extended. I think I took that picture after doing a water change or something. Maybe the lights just came on! It's so cool.

I also did a small upgrade to the tank! Check it out!

I like the custom clear overflow. It doesn't block any views from the side!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Looks great! I can't quite figure out how the water is getting to the sump and back up again?

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

In the last picture, the clear hose on the left is connected to the bottom part of the clear overflow that goes down to the sump, and the return is the white fittings to the right of the clear hose. You can see a small hole on the fittings to stop backflow if the power goes out. I do have a backup battery on the system just in case, but you never know!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Thanks. If I understand it you're not running an overflow on the tank like a Lifereef, but instead using a pump to achieve the water flow to the sump? Great idea on the battery backup too - better safe than sorry!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

No pump to achieve the water flow to the sump. It's done by siphon. I guess you might call it an internal overflow box. Nothing hangs outside of the tank. The box is skimming the surface water and then the siphon at the bottom of the box is taking out the skimmed water by using gravity! The only pump I'm using is the one for the skimmer that makes all the bubbles, and the return line for the clean water!

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

Another way to look at it is the siphon is strong enough, that it pulls all the water that gets skimmed in this box to the inlet of the sump. Hope that make sense.

Re: Full Tank RSM Photos~

I took those pictures right after I installed it so it shows nothing in the skimmer cup, but now you should see all the junk it's taking out of the system!
