What do you feed?

What types of foods do you feed your fish/corals?? I feed a homemade mush (blended cyclopeeze and other types of fresh marine meats) to my fish/corals. I also feed whole silversides to my anemones.

I have been using frozen Cyclop-eeze but recently bought flaked Cyclop-eeze. But I'm not happy. I bought the new product because I was told it held its nutrient value longer (no freezer-burn). But it does not "behave" the same when I do the feeding. And my corals definitely don't respond as well.

So I think I will use the flaked version to keep my fish colorful and fecund and the frozen version to keep my corals happy.

Hummm... thanks for the input regarding the cyclop-eeze flake food. I have the frozen but was thinking about trying the flake. Maybe now I'll spend my $$ on something else

I use to love LIVE phyto but soon realised it was driving up my phosphates. Don't use it anymore and have not seen any negative effects on the corals.

We feed cyclop-eeze and frozen mysis and or krill. I think i get the most response from the corals with the cyclop-eeze though. Gave up feeding the DT's Phyto though. Don't really know how much good it was doing things and like Brucey, haven't seen any ill effects from not feeding it.

I make a homemade mush, consisting of mysis, shrimp/prawn, some type of shellfish, selecon, some minced garlic, nori, and sometimes formula 1 or 2. Just a dab of each goes a very long way...

Take er easy

I only feed a small clip of nori once or twice a week.
Guess the benefit of having a tank with only one lawnmower blenny in it and pretty much only sps corals.

i do the mush blend of frozen foods cyclopeeze, brine, mysis and formula 2. I very rarely drop in the seaweed select nori-style if the tang doesn't look as fat but that hasn't been for a long time

Mysid if I'm just feeding my huge Maroon.

I like using a mix of different foods, that way I feel like my tank has to be getting what it needs. I don't feed everything at once but kind of rotate what I feed with the exception of filter feeder type foods, I will feed those and fish foods at the same time.
