| Manta Ray ![]() | I'm contemplating going w/ something called starboard. It basically the same stuff as plastic food grade cutting boards that restaurants use. I heard about it first here Kinda lengthy reading but pretty neat. Not trying to stir up controversy but I've been reading alot about the problems associated w/ DSB's and I would rather go w/o. Easier to clean, and after the coraline takes off, nothing looks strange at all. Just my opinion... Nick

| Golden Moray | I believe Mojoreef has a bare bottom and so does Tankgirl. Go take a look at their tanks. EVERYTHING in this hobby has pros/cons. The important thing is to educate yourselves about your options and that is why boards like Reefsanctuary are very useful. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | I am slowly removing my aragonite & sand from my main tank. It was about 4-5" but it's down to approx. 2". When I removed some from one corner last week, it had a really bad odor so I'm glad it's out now! I think some of my new algae problems may be coming from me disturbing the substrate. I remember reading somewhere that phospates get 'caught up' in it and disturbing it can release them back into the water?
