Fish Names

Hi all...hope this is the right spot for this, and let me know if it's a dumb idea
I think it would be fun...but maybe I'm the only one who likes fishy names and hearing about other names?

Do you name your fish/tank inhabitants? What are their names, and why?

I'll start if you let me know if this is a good idea?

Re: Fish Names

Love Lionel!

As promised, I have:

4 Chromis: collectively called 1-4, used to be 1-6
Flasher Wrasse (Fairy...): Liberace
Yellow Watchman Goby: Toby
Yellow headed sleeper goby: Sandy (thinking positively, as I want "her" to sift!)
Royal Gramma: Chanel (named by 16 year old daughter)

Looking forward to seeing names!

Re: Fish Names

I don't name them all, just the ones with personality or be names that were inspired by others.

Orchid Dottyback--Kellie, inspired by a RS member.
Blue Spotted Jawfish--Spotty, inspired by a RS member.
Long Nose Hawkfish--Burberry, named by my wife.

Re: Fish Names

Well, we have Flippy the evil 6-line wrasse and Buddy, the garden eel. There's the yellow/scopas hybrid tang, his name is Lil' Al (named after an RS member ), a BW saddleback clown named MiniMoe who was supposed to be introduced to the much-mourned BW saddleback clown Moe.

Formerly we had Spot the more evil domino damsel, but currently Spot is holding court with a scopas at the LFS.

There have been more, but I forget right now.

Re: Fish Names

I have 3 chromis - Huey, Dewey and Louie and the new addition a lawnmower blenny - I'm still trying out names for him - started with Lonnie, but it doesn't fit, been calling him Benny and that seems to suit him better...

People come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
