Re: Fish Names

I love the names for the pistol shrimp. That is really cute. You need to get a mantis and name it pop.

Re: Fish Names

Diamond watchman goby -- Cracker. He's white, he's got a big mouth, and he looks stupid when he swims.

Occelaruss clown-- Nemo, of course. Betcha can't guess my kids named that one....

6-line wrasse -- Striper ----- Dora the Explorer (kids cartoon show) has a fox named Swiper. "Swiper no swiping!!" Parents will get it. Others will just shake their heads........ So, Striper seamed appropriate.

I had a flame angel named Xena, but she had ich when I bought her and she didn't make it.

Re: Fish Names

My daughters name every living thing in our house... If I could tell you the names off the top of my head I would really be impressed with myself.

They can even tell the frekin hermit crabs from one another, and they have names too... LOL

I'll have to let my youngest post some time with all of the names..

Re: Fish Names

My wife names most of our fish. We decided it would be fun to give them early 1900's gangster names. Our neon goby is "Smalls", the Bluespot Jawfish is "Bubbles Da Mouth", the Ocellaris pair are "Da clown brodas"(even though one is a girl), and so on. We didn't bother naming the 4 chromis or some of the less personable fish.

Re: Fish Names

Mine were ALL named Stupid. (although my wife gave most of them "cute" names, I referred to them all the same way.
"If I can get Stupid to feed..." Looks like Stupid is digging again..." "These two Stupids have been fighting..."

I figured that if they weren't stupid, they'd still be in the ocean...

Scorpion Toadfish-One Eyed Willy (has one cloudy eye)
CBS-Doesn't have a name
All of my hermits---Jack***'s That's what I call them because they are always picking on my Coco feather!

Worried about the costs to run a Saltwater tank?
Here are some tips on cutting back to keep your bills in the same range as before.

Put a timer in the bathroom, the family is now only aloud to take 5 minute showers, baths are out of the question.

Tv time is cut to 1 hour a night, we have to make up for all of the lights/pumps/heaters/chillers/etc. running

No more lights, duct tape all light switches in the off position. If someone needs light, they can sit by the tank.

Sorry bunny, I sacrificed you to help others save money!
