Re: Fish Names

I do...
Paracanthurus Hepatus-Blue Tang (evidently): Dory
Zebrasoma Veliferum-Sailfin: Zebra
Valenciennea Puellaris-Diamond goby (or golden I never remember how you name them, white with golden spots): Pepi (a reduction of Josephine)
Ecsenius bicolor-Bicolor Blenny: Muppet (my wife's idea after seeing his face and the way it looks at you)
And last and even more boring
Amphirion percula-Clownfish: male Nemo, female Nema

Re: Fish Names

My nephew named their shrimp Climber-Walker, and a couple months after that they got a sea urchin that he named Roller-Walker. And no Walker is not their last name. My nephew was three at the time. The fish they have gotten since then have much less unique names including Nemo, Dory, Ariel, and Sebastian. But I quite like the names Climber-Walker and Roller-Walker. Very unique.

All I have is coral and CUC. Sorry I don't name my corals or my snails/crabs. I don't even name my car. I did, however, name my cat. his name is Benson AKA BennyBoy, and he's addicted to Feline Greenies snack food. I swear those things are kitty-crack

Re: Fish Names

I named my clowns, Elvis and Elvira, but it didn't stick, now they are clown and picasso... I pretty much call them by their shorten common names ie:

blue spot - the blue
yellow watchman- the yellow
m and f wrasse- m and f wrasse
clowns see above
PJ cardinals- the PJ's (can't tell them apart anyway)

Anyway, as for my fish....

Clownfish - Tiger
Yellow Tang - Sharkbait
Yellow Watchman Goby - Elian (Gonzalez) - I'm obviously NOT a very "PC" person (I chose the name b/c he hides a lot. Ducks into the rockwork when I walk by - I'm sure everyone can see the whole "closet" / rockwork metaphor)

Snails, crabs & two shrimp are unnamed.
