Im curious as to what everyone calls there beverage by.. I know i roll with POP!!!

Soda to me.....

Used to be "Coke" but now a family member works for Pepsi Cola so "Coke" is now an illegal work...

I go with soda, but I usually just call a drink by its name. Dr Pepper = Dr. Pepper
Mt Dew= Mt. Dew

Yeah, me too. I never did understand using "Coke" as a generic term for soda/soda pop.

This is mostly a regional thing. West Coast is almost exclusively "Soda" while other parts of the country use "Pop" or "Coke."

Anything brown and carbonated is coke! As far as I'm concerned Pepsi is coke.

Coke to me too. However they did it, the Brand Coke created a hell of a subconcious marketing tool to a lot of people.

Soda for me. It used to be coke for everything, but I tend to be a nitpicker who uses words very precisely, so I decided that was no longer acceptable.

Illinois...seems I have heard the term "pop" used more in the Chicago area...sometimes in the Eastern area. I am from Southern Illinois, rare to hear someone say "pop"...I say "soda".

Here it is either the name of the drink or soda for a generic term.

Yeah its "pop" here in Northern Illinois and I'm with Lynn Pepsi is definitely not Coke.

Octoman hit the nail on the head. Its just a southern thing, Fl dose not count as southern by the way. Atl. is where coke came from so down here eaverything is still coke.My inlaws are all from Chicago and the pop thing kills me.
