I think "POP" is definetly a Chicago thing. Im a lil south of Chi-town but we called it "POP" when we were kids but you dont here it much anymore. I remember being in a different region of the US & called it a "POP" & people looked at me like I was crazy.

Back home in Michigan, we all say pop.

But here in Iowa, Florida, and Texas, they looked at me like I was CRAZY when asking for pop..and whoever I'm withcorrects me and says soda..

Funny - when I was a kid it was pop. but as I got older - or maybe when I started waiting tables it bacame soda, and I used to drink diet pepsi - or regular Coke, now I like diet soda's that are made with splenda, but I like the Coke made in Mexico cause it's made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup... It's all very complicated, maybe I'll just stick with iced tea!!

How southern? I lived in Normal for a couple of years...we said bags...the St. Louis region says bag, as well.

My neighbors are from Arkansas, it may sound cliche or stereotypical, but they rarely wear shoes, and drink moonshine that their relatives make. It's some pretty harsh stuff.

Travelling from Illinois back to Texas, I got off of the Interstate once to check out some historical site. Occasionally those mapquest maps are horribly wrong...we could not find our way out of that state! It was like the Twilight Zone.

Here are some tips on cutting back to keep your bills in the same range as before. Put a timer in the bathroom, the family is now only aloud to take 5 minute showers, baths are out of the question. Tv time is cut to 1 hour a night, we have to make up for all of the lights/pumps/heaters/chillers/etc. running No more lights, duct tape all light switches in the off position. If someone needs light, they can sit by the tank. Sorry bunny, I sacrificed you to help others save money!
