I thought the crud in hte collection cup was bad...until I took the whole skimmer off to clean for the first time in 4 months. I had a DDB (deep detrius bed) in there, I think there mighta been some anaerobic zones in it. Pheewee! did that reek!

Oh guys thank goodness no-one took offence...

I kinda felt that is had to be asked..... its made me giggle watching the comments so far...

I think I will be booted outta the house if I ever spill any....

Hmmm, tried to respond, didn't take..
I always thought the skimmate from my Remora Pro's smelled bad, until I finally gor the Kent Nautilus TE fried up & broke in. PHEW!!! This stuff is so bad, my wife makes me close the bathroom door when I clean the collection cup, and use air freshener when I'm done.
Ought to be used to THAT by now!

This skimmer never received rave reviews, but it works very well for me, and produces some of the rankest skimmate I've ever seen.

Well, if I clean my skimmer cup out daily it doesn't stink as bad.... but OMG if I wait 4 or 5 days!! YIKES!!! SUPER stinky!!

Give it three or four days without cleaning and my AquaC's collection cup smells worse than an open sewer...I spill that in the house and it's all over.....

I like to pour the skimmate into the toilet and then grunt and groan for a little while.

then I leave the bathroom and I don't flush.

Always good for a laugh
