Hi, Just saw the poll and noticed that you have a lifereef listed. curious if you would be interested in a 1 year old hardly used, run for about a week every 2 months. I am looking to upgrade to a lifereef 6 foot Tall skimmer for my system. do not know if we can do this on this site, I am sorry if not.

Any consideration on Deltec or H&S skimmers?
I voted for BK, not only because it's expensive, but more importantly the BK 250 external comes with red pipes! If that doesn't scream cool nothing does!
I think I'm obsessed with red ever since Mr Booze tipped us off on what his cabinet doors are gonna look like....


But actually on a serious note, no consideration of the recirc skimmers?

i am, was, am, will be, might, going to try the recir mod. the only thing that threw a wrench in the plan is the sale reefgeek has on their ASM's, great deals. i have not talked to greg yet but i am thinking those prices will be going up by the end of the year if not sooner.

o ic you have the VS3-36, the 36" tall one. i can only fit the VS3-30"

i like your matching cabnet. ic how you can fit a 6' one. lots of room in for lighting and sump work too. i like it i might have to add something like that in the future.

FWIW I had a VS 2 lifereef skimmer on my old 40 gallon sps. It worked very well, but I ended up changing it out to a ER because the mag drive I was using to power it was contributing to heat problems, and TBH it was overkill for the sized tank I had. That and the one I had didn't have flanges to clean the inside of the skimmer.
