Re: which skimmer?

Your bio load should be low and NWs are easy and effective. I'd do the ASM.

Re: which skimmer?

you know I'm gonna say BK

but...depending on budget, skimmers from ASM, Deltec and reefflo/orca should be given consideration

Re: which skimmer?

thanks booze i just love the BK's. if i do need to buy one it will a BK or a ATI bubble master, deltec would be in there but its hard to find, kinda want something that easier to get parts for if needed. i am hoping to get away with one of these though. one decision i have made is i will use one of these and upgrade later if needed, just thinking the clams are going to help.

Re: which skimmer?

I have a EuroReef RS 250. I LOVE IT!

It's so quiet I have to actually look at it to make sure it's working.

Re: which skimmer?

I like the bubble master also Prow. Very well thought out and the pumps are pretty cool.

Re: which skimmer?

this is cool, i now know what skimmer i will buy if one of these dont work out.

the ASM is in-sump only, if i go with it and its not enough, the bubble master is in-sump only too and will be the upgrade if needed for the ASM.

the ETSS is external, if i go with it and its not enough, the bubble kings are external only and will be the upgrade if needed for the ETSS.

nice, i have back up plans for whatever the plan is. how cool is that. i think i will go with the ASM and build the sump/plumbing for it. ok its settled, going with the ASM for now. at least i can start to create the system.

Re: which skimmer?

Keep in mind when building the sump, if there is a possibilty of an upgrade, the footprint of the bubblemaster. It maybe slight larger than the ASM...

Re: which skimmer?

Excellent point Mike. That is exactly why i have not upgraded yet. I made the mistake of building my sump around my current skimmer and now if i want to upgrade i will need to build a new sump.
