Who pollutes more?

I want to have a really big fish only tank. I'm doing some planning and I'd like to know what would be less maintenance.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. The bigger the fish , the bigger the poo.

I think I heard Karthywithpoo (birds) say that once. LOL

Re: Who pollutes more?

Bigger fish produce more waste per capita than a small fish. Therefore, the mass of their waste takes longer to breakdown and process. Not only that, they have a higher oxygen demand and produce more CO2 waste. I would also think that the tank size matters. Is this a trick question?

Re: Who pollutes more?

Bigger fish are less agile and would miss more scraps and therefore would be messier eaters.

I thought you were going for specific species.

Re: Who pollutes more?

I'm plotting to build a tank that is 96x28x30. I first wanted some big creepy fish in there and people keep telling me to get a bunch of wacky colorful ones instead. I really could go either way.

I wanted a catshark or a ray but everyone says no. I'm exploring my options.

Re: Who pollutes more?

The tank isn't built yet. I'm planning. I figured I would need to decide what I want in the tank before I get equipment so I get the right things. I want happy critters. That size tank is what I want. If I shouldn't have certain things in there I do want to know.

Re: Who pollutes more?

Realistically a cat shark or any of the small sharks & rays would do great in a shallow deep long tank like 72-96"x30-36"X18-24" would be great they get allong well with each other

Re: Who pollutes more?

So I would need it to be a little wider for those critters. I was planning on 28. I'm looking for pros and cons of different fish only setups.
