People come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Is one of these tanks easier to maintain than the other. I could go either way with the tank size. I have a wall to use.

Long and flat is easier to take care of.

Re: Who pollutes more?

Like jack said for cat sharks and rays, wider is better.
Having maintained tanks that held southern stingrays and clear nose skates, as well as juvenile bonnethead sharks I will say that very wide tanks are a pita to clean without sometype of way to either access both sides or have an over head walkway/crawlspace.
And fwiw, I find displays with smaller more active fish way more interesting But it's your tank build it for what you want to keep.

Re: Who pollutes more?

Meat eaters, such as sharks and triggers, eat a fatty diet and will create much, much, much, much MORE nitrates then vegi eaters. Depending on the amount of LR, you'll end up doing massive water changes a LOT.
