Poll: Products for Joining PVC Plumbing

What is the best aquarium-safe product for joining my pieces of PVC together when putting together the plumbing for my new tank??? P.S. It must be Reef Safe (of course!)

Plumbers primer and glue. That is a grade used in gluing residential/business drinking water and once cured is very safe to use

I can't remember the name of the stuff but, I'm thinking this might have been what my husband used to make our cloosed loop. Better wait though and see what others say!

As mentioned, regular pvc glue & primer, I don't think you can find anything else better. IMO

AQTCJK:
Awsome! Are you the "prince of purple" because you were covered with purple sealent after your awsome plumbing job? I was hoping you would post your selection. After seeing those pics. I thought to my self, "man that guy really loves his plumbing glue!"

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

I only use primer sparingly on pressure fittings (none on the drain lines). I guess you have to balance the risk of leakage vs. leachate...

Re: Poll: Products for Joining PVC Plumbing

I read that purple primer was necessary for a solid bond. It dries within 30 seconds. Then I was to use one of the glues to bond the pieces of PVC that have already been primed.
I definitely don't want to run into any issues with Toxic leachage. However, I guess I will look into the blue glue before using anything on to fix the plumbing together.
