| Manta Ray | Re: Salt reef crystals here. easy to find and priced right, very very consistant aswell. no issues at all. Quote:
. if not might be where you store it, its not the salt, its moisture getting in somehow.

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: Salt I started with hw marinemix cuz that is what my lfs sold. Then they quit selling it and I switched to AquaCraft's Bio-Sea. Bio-sea dissolves fast and clean. I used to get ugly colorations in the substrate along the glass and that stopped with the salt change. I also dosed B-Ionic two part but stopped that with the Bio-sea too. Weekly water changes has kept Ph, Ca, and Alk at good levels.

| Elegance coral ![]() | Re: Salt Martin salt ![]() Oh yea, IO in the 5g bucket, had an issue clumping myself, I guess I didn't tighten the lid enough because it is a pain, almost all gone though, so I'll watch that. It was the first time I had issues with IO, doubt I'd change.

| Manta Ray | Re: Salt i do 20gal changes at a time. i have log book for this tank that was started 4/11/05. the tests i have for just the salt mix are a little old, about a year or so. those results were about; Ca+: 380-400ppm Alk : 4.2-4.4meq Mg+: 1200-1260ppm sal : 35ppt ph : 8.2 no phos,NO3, NO2, NH3 or silicates but the past year and half or so i have been using SeaChems Avd. Ca+. its like automatic dosing for me now, so i test after i add. i dose with 1.5tsp per 20gal. the results with that the past year have been very solid at; Ca+: 450 Alk : 4.2 Mg+: 1300-1350 i like the numbers on TMPro with just the salt mix more than RC but, you do pay for it. using RC with SC's Ca+ is perfect and much cheaper.

| Elegance coral ![]() | Re: Salt I like the TM pro also but it is almost $50 more down here & can be difficult to get at times. I try & change 30/40G at a time when changing water & I also try to Log what I use, been using Kent turbo ca for the bump up but that is only because I had a large supply.
