Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

I tryed that before. My problem(s) was I would try to cover a large area with the same water, it would streak, And I was way to lazy to ever get a clean rag/ towel so that would streak it. I am happy with a vinegar / water solution in a spray bottle, would highly recommend it. I always see such perfect glass and wonder 'is it always like this, or is it just for the camera / guests?'.
If you put 'other' I would like to know what it is, Hint, hint, hint...

Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

I use a Squeegee that I got at an auto parts store and plain water. Works great and only takes a minute.

Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

For a daily wipedown I use a plain dry papertowel. I rub it in a circle over any spots or drips I can see.

Once a week I wet a microfiber cloth with RO water wipe the glass (and more) and then dry with a different microfiber cloth.

I'll admit it......I used windex also. I would spray it on the cloth first then wipe the glass down.

Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

Honestly, you should try the squeegee. It has a sponge covered with nylon mesh on one end and a rubber blade on the other. If you can remove bugs from a windshield, what's a little salt build up on glass. It was one of my best buys ever. What do all glass cleaners use on windows? A squeegee.

Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

I'll second the squeegee. That's what we used at the LFS. You can wipe down a lot of tank fast and it does a great job!

Re: Poll: Outside glass cleaning

I use the prepackaged windex wipes on my glass tanks they work really well - on my acrylic tank I use a baby wash cloth with a special acrylic aquarium cleaner.
