Re: What should i get for my 2.5g?

I voted for the sexy shrimp because they are cute and 2.5 gallons is awfully small for even one fish IMHO. I'm with her on the fact that it needs some "life" in it and I bet she comes to really love the shrimp like little puppies!

I personally like crabs too and you could also consider one scarlet reef hermit crab. I have one and he is FUN! He will even eat "out of my hand" if I feed him a piece of seaweed selects.

I picked the shrimp barely over the crabs because they are safer with the corals and my Hermes (the hermit) is kind of miserable in only a 10 gal. QT so he would really hate a 2.5 gal. He loves to romp all over the full 72 gal. display with lots of sand to sift through and live rock to climb.

I picked small fish. I like to see fish in an aquarium.

Re: What should i get for my 2.5g?

remember its a 2.5 gallon made my AGA so its not a square and there a 1.5" of sand, with LR, so its less then 2.5 gallons so a small fish would be very uncomfortable to live in there, except a clown goby or a very small goby, but i think im going to go with the sexy's since you can feed then flake and that will be easy for her

I vote sexy shrimp too. They are so cool. Is your tank temp really 84 degrees?? If it is you might want to get a fan blowing across the top to try to lower it a bit, that's awfully high. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Re: What should i get for my 2.5g?

yea i might help a little but the temp in my house is 84 so it might not help that much.. i live in a desert thats 105 out side so... electric bill is high... by the time i get back from the vacation it should be cooler here so the tank will be cooler also.. i think ill install a fan when i get back too.. what is an average price for sexy shrimp at a LFS?

Re: What should i get for my 2.5g?

$7-10 is pretty normal for the sexy shrimp.

Cool tank! What's that tall orange thing in the bottom left corner? A sponge?

Re: What should i get for my 2.5g?

Looks nice. One word of advice, remove that gorgonian frag from the substrate. The part that is buried will die and the decay will travel right up the stalk and kill the whole thing. I would try to find a place in the rock for it, or mount it to a small piece of rock of it's own.
