Re: Buying the Best RO/DI (help put all the info in 1 place)

Not a bad analogy, I get the idea. When you put it that way it actually makes a lot of sense and sounds like a worth while addition to the unit. Thanks for your input BigAl07

Re: Buying the Best RO/DI (help put all the info in 1 place)

I got my RO/DI installed (several trips to Lowe's due to mistakes on my part) and I love it. I'm even using it for drinking water as opposed to buying bottled water every week. I only wish I had done it sooner.

Hey Allen, glad to hear you finally got one and have it up and running. What type did you end up getting? (pardon me if you mentioned it, I'll have to go back and check)
I actually just got mine the other day and got around to setting it up today. I went with The Filter Guys Ocean Reef +1 (75GPD), it seems to be running smoothly. I'm just now making my first 5 gallons. I think I read somewhere you're supposed to throw out the first few gallons so I'll go ahead and do that. Anyone know if that's right?

Thanks,
Justin

Re: Buying the Best RO/DI (help put all the info in 1 place)

I just wanted to take a minute to share a few words about my new RO/DI system. I finally decided on The Filter Guys Ocean Reef +1 system. Since the poll indicated it was a popular brand I called them and found them to be extremely informative, knowledgeable, and concerned with my choosing the proper system for my needs and the best bang for the buck. I paid $247 for the unit, an adapter to hook it up to a water source, and shipping. It was easy to install and seems to have all the necessary bells and whistles. Since they gave me such good service I just wanted to make sure to give my two thumbs up approval to the Filter Guys.
I put it in my garage using the water heater inlet pipe as a water source and drilled a small hole through the wall into the laundry room and ran the waste water line to the washing machine drain.
Here's a few pics of the installed unit.

Re: Buying the Best RO/DI (help put all the info in 1 place)

Hello fellow reefers,

If and when anybody else is in the market for a new R/O DI filter unit, replacement membranes, pre and post filters let me know.

I will give anyone and all in this forum a really great price, check out the others then contact me for a price.

I can custom build you any GPD system that you need for less!

I can build you a 4 Stage R/O DI 100 GPD for less then 75GPD unit.

To save money on your DI Resin and Carbon cartridges, buy the refillable and refill your own for a lot less.

Check out the pictures.

The 12 stage R/O DI 300 GPD unit is what I for my 3,000 gallon systems.

Contact me and I guarantee that I'll beat their prices.

e-mail or call 717-243-9545.
