When do you empty your collection cup?

So how long does it take until you need to empty the collection cup of your skimmer?

Our skimmer cup fills about every 2-3 days.

Re: When do you empty your collection cup?

I empty mine every morning, even if it is not full, just to keep it routine.

Re: When do you empty your collection cup?

I use to do it on a weekly basis but now I clean it every couple of days and it's good to do this regularly because the buildup of sludge around the neck of the skimmer can reduce performance.

At least every other day here. Even if it is not "full" I can't stand to see the yuck when I do my top-off.

Re: When do you empty your collection cup?

Every other day because by then the cup/neck need a good scrubbing. I have an overflow built in just incase the skimmer goes nuts...

Re: When do you empty your collection cup?

I have adjusted my skimmer to skim very dark skimmate so I don't have to empty it very often, only once a week (even though it's pretty powerful skimmer, ATI Bubble Master).

Re: When do you empty your collection cup?

My skimmer runs pretty dry so I usually empty it every water change. Then again I typically keep the doors open on the cabinet for ventilation so if it looks gross I tend to do it sooner.
