The problem with the salts with higher amounts of certain elements is that it's usually accompanied by higher PO4 levels.

Well I did a fresh Tropic Marin Test today

Salinity was @ 1.025
Temp was 80 F

PH was 8.18 (pinpoint monitor)
Alk - 10.9 dKH (salifert test kit)
Calcium - 375ppm (Salifert test Kit) 350ppm (Sera Test Kit - Just got it)
Phosphate - below .03 (Salifert test Kit)

don't have a magnesium test kit

I thought TM had a higher calcium than that?

So did I... my level in my tank which is all TM stays at like 430-440 area...

Well, that's higher than my IO. Still switching to TM when I get towards the end of my IO.

I have always used TM when i wasn't useing real sea water. im glad this thread is up cause im getting ready to set up the 120 and need salt. So far im set on TM again because it was always good for me and consistent with the quality i was looking for. Im curious about this ME 2 part though....

Red sea Pro at 1.025 SG has calcium levels at 480 and alk levels at 2.5 meq/L and a ph of 8.2-8.4. I have done 3 water changes since I've had it and my calcium was at 420 and alk at 3.89 meq/L ph and at 8.4.

I've used IO since my first bag (Bag? how many buckets ago was that?) I've never had water chemistry problems with it, AND the price is right.
