Re: Anemone Feeding Schedule?

i have a BTA which i just spot feed mysis once a week, then let him fend for himself the rest of the time and i've heard the clown will take care of him too. He looks great. But should i feed him a piece of raw shrimp from the store once a week? Shop i chop it in half or how should i do it? any tips would be great, thanks!

Re: Anemone Feeding Schedule?

one thing you have to remember,,,Woody and Witty have large, agressive anemones, a BTA would like a small krill as a meal, but shrimp,,to big for him to handle.

Re: Anemone Feeding Schedule?

you can get a small 2oz pack pack of frozen krill at your LFS. snap a section off with a knife,,,thaw in RO water, drain, soak, rinse,,,,then simply reach into the tank and (this is fun) holing it by one end, pressit to the tenticles,,,he will grab it,,,but dont let go,,,wiggle it softly,,,then let go,,,simulates live prey~

my carpet has actually pulled the shrimp from the tail shell i was holding on too,,,that was a day~

Re: Anemone Feeding Schedule?

Mine get pieces of silversides once a week. And yes the clown can feed the anemone. My clown steals food from all of the other anemones to feed his "favorite". Unliess I watch carefully and stop him. He will also bring some of whatever is for fishy dinner that night to his favorite which is a BTA.

Watch the hermits with the turbos. Once the hermits grow a bit they like the turbo shells and won't stop until they kill the snail and steal the shell.

Peace
Lynn
