How many people have refugiums?

I'm contemplating getting a refugium for my tank and i was wondering how many out there actually have one!?!

...and if you did explain if your DIY anything i.e. overflow, durso standpipe. refugium...

I just devote a section of my sump for cheatomorpha and supply it with light using a clamp on 19w PC spot light.

I am running a HOB 18X4X12 with live sand and Cylerpa (sp?) and PC lighting on a opposite light cycle then the main display. The refugium is great for growing pods, gobies (dragonets) and wrasses love them.

Yep... 40g dedicated fuge. Plenum,3" SB,LR,grape calp. algea, use to have mangroves but they whitherd and died.

I have a 10g refugium on a 55 gal, containing miracle mud and some LR. I have a 13wt 6500 shop over the refugium, I will run it opposite of the tank lights as soon as I put more macro in it.

Hoping nutrients are low enough that the macro can't grow.

No here as of at the present time but, my bf has been sketching out and planning on adding one later this year.

question about the refugium...how do i know whether or not i need one? i have a 26 gal tank that will hopefully be filled with corals but only softies and no more than 4 fish! is a refugium really need for me or can weekly water changes, a skimmer, and a good cleanup crew do enough?

I am without a fuge right now, but I would love to add one. My long term plans for the tank include dropping the sump to the basement and adding a fuge. The basement is not finished yet which is the biggest delay.

No but want one. I've heard they need to be at least 25% of the tanks volume to do any good. What to you all think about that?

You don't need one but it can be beneficial to have. Besides providing nutrient export it also provides diversity and a natural food source for your fish/corals.
