OT: Python pics!

Had my pair of Ball Pythons out today, and decided take the opportunity to snap some photos, and share them here with some other cold blood fans.

Just a little background on the pair. Their names are Shogun (Male) and Q (Female) and both are 2 years old and just a bit over 4 feet in length. Q has a bit of growing to do, but I'm almost positive she'll be ready to breed with Sho this season.

Without further adieu...my balls...LOL

Here's a few of Q:

and now for the big Sho(gun):

Well I hope you enjoyed my attempt, I figured there have to be some here who appreciate the cold blooded.

Re: OT: Python pics!

Nice, I have a few customers that breed those guys. One has a bunch of super pastels and is working on getting some other colorations. The other guy has a female that is Het for piebald. He is hoping to pump out a few piebald pythons this coming season.
I personally used to do the cornsnakes. Had an Snow, Ghost and pair of Okatees.

Re: OT: Python pics!

Thanks Everyone! I can honestly say that they are probably one of the coolest pets that I've ever had, and hopefully soon, most rewarding.

Thanks Gina, I just wish I could find a nice digital scale...Anyone know of a good site for them online?

You should tell him to send me a pastel and piebald! LOL Currently I'm doing a bit of saving for a nice pastel male to start out my morph collection.

Right now they are pounding Medium Rats (6-7in. Not including tail), and with every meal they are putting on weight.

Within the next couple of weeks I'll be purchasing a snake/gecko rack system to house my eight leos, and have room for a few normal females.

I got mine at a local pawn shop for $59. Funny thing is my boss, a part time cop is the one that told me to pick it up there. He said thats where all the local drug dealers got their scales from
I'd love to see more morphs enter the hobby. Hopefully their price will come down in the next few years. Gotta encourage captive bred in that hobby also. Seen too many imported balls loaded with parasites or just plain not eat.

so true mike. the dark side of the business,,,and a big part of why i left the industry. my pair was wild caught. the wholesaler gave them to me. he knew they were loaded with worms, and were covered with about 50 ticks each. he said (i heard and still hear this) if anyone can keep them alive, you can. they didnt eat for almost a yr. then one day a customer brought in a vicious, attack gerbil. this critter was pure evil. wanted to rip any flesh it could, especially fond of human meat. so i told them id find it a place where it could live its life out. (the freezer) i was going to give it to our big nile monitor to play with, but for some reason i dropped it in with the balls. suddenly they came to life. the male struck and coiled the female rose up and watched...i dropped an other gerbil in,,,she struck and coiled. in a weel they each ate 3 gerbils. they would snub mice and rats, rats rubbed with gerbil, but gerbil meat,,,,,they chowed down. i eventually traded them for a large rock dragon setup and pair of orange and black dragons.
