I need a prayer.

I know this should be a time for joy and celebration however I need some prayers for my grandmother and some support from friends at the moment. I spent a lot of this Christmas holidays and most of new years New Years Eve and New Years morning in the hospital sitting by her bedside just hoping she lived through the night.

Five months ago my grandmother had a hip replacement. Since then she had a lot of complications from the surgery including a rejection of the first surgery, dislocation from the socket, a broken bone and two infections. She is so very weak right now and is only a shadow of her former self both in body and spirit. She has been in constant pain for nearly 5 months now from the surgery and we think that she has given up the will to continue fighting. The one bright spot is the doctors seem to think that the worst of the infections and complications from the surgery is over and if she can gather the will to continue fighting she should be able to recover and have a few more years to live. However if her depression continues on as is at the moment, I fully expect this to have been the last time I got to see her on this side of life.

While growing up I was very close to her and seeing her in the hospital these past few days has been extremely hard on me. She's nearly 83 years old and has lived a full life. We aren't ready to loose her yet but understand that after her being in pain for so long it's tough for her to keep fighting. Right now my mom and one of my aunts are able to visit her nearly everyday in the hospital however they are becoming exhausted as well. I live too far away to visit very often so the only support I can give is over the phone which just isn't the same.

Please give a little prayer for my grandmother to help her through the pain and to give my mother and aunt the strength they need to make it through this very draining period.
